Hannah's Here!

I got up on the morning of  July 18 and noticed something not normal.  I went to my midwife and she confirmed that my water had begun to leak. That means that contractions had better start soon or else I would have to go into the hospital to start pitocin to get these contractions started.  Well, little Hannah must have liked it in there because I waited all day for the contractions to start, doing whatever I could to promote it, and NOTHING!  Well, there goes the water birth at the birth center out the window!  Our midwife accompanied us to the hospital that evening to help us with bringing Hannah into the world.  Here is the last picture of me at 41.5 weeks...

Carter's First Bike Ride

Clay received this bike seat from his mom as a Father's Day gift last year, but with the hustle and bustle of our move to VA, we never had a chance to install it.  Now that we are settled (and actually pumped up the bike tires), we decided it was time for Carter to try out his new seat.  While you browse through the pictures, you will notice that Carter appears very stoic. He did not enjoy having a helmet on his head one bit.  The funny thing was that the toddler helmet we got last year won't even fit on his head.  We had to put my helmet on him!  And he did NOT like it one bit...

Sorry buddy, but you WILL have fun :)

And they are off!

He must be enjoying himself a little because he is giving me a wave :)

Today Is...

...Hannah's due date!  Nothing is happening as of yet, which is good, because now I have time to finish her room!  This is what we have so far...

This picture will look dramatically different in a few days.  I got pink and white flowers to stick up all over the tree and "blowing" above her crib.  Her name is going to go somewhere up there among the flowers.  The curtains are temporary until my mom gets here and brings the beautiful black and white curtains she made.  She is the best!  Clay's mom got Hannah this nice crib...she is the best, too!  The wall you can't see has an awesome dresser with some artwork that needs to be completed by moi.  I will post that when the entire thing is finished.

Carter doesn't realize he's about to be a big brother, but I do have him practice gently swinging the baby swing with a stuffed bunny in it.  He points at the bunny and says "baby!".

pool time!

Clay came home from work early for the July 4 weekend.  We thought we would go next door and swim in their pool.  Can you believe we have neighbors that extended an open invitation to their pool???  Anytime we want we can go swimming...how cool is that!

I bought 2 different sized swim vests.  Carter is trying them on...

It was hilarious to watch him walk around in the vest
