Early Birthday Present

Somebody is turning 2 on Sunday! My parents decided to get CJ's birthday gift while they were here. They wanted to get him a basketball hoop.  Guess what happens when you send dad and grandpa out to get the hoop. You end up with the biggest hoop in the store. The video shows the lowest setting.  It goes all the way up to 6 ft! Since we don't have a playroom at this house, that monstrocity is going to remain in the little guys room :)  I don't think he minds...he goes up there often to "shoot ball"!

Ohio Visitors and Halloween

Last week we had a couple of visitors come into town...Grandma and Grandpa Moore. We had a great weekend. Usually when they come down, we do a lot of home projects, but this visit, we tried to make it more enjoyable.  We went to the Manassas Battlefield Park, Botanical Gardens, Museum of Natural History and the Air and Space Museum.  We also went to Clay's work to eat lunch with him and show the parents where he works. They stayed 5 days and we enjoyed every bit of it.  Thanks for making the trek to see us!

oh yes I did

The morning of my first post partum 5k race I decided to wear a costume. Why not, I was running in the Goblin Gallup.  Anything to get more layers on since the morning temp was below freezing.  This is Clay's signature halloween costume that I borrowed. See the shiny road behind me?  That's black ice. Not good for running!  I lucked out and didn't meet any of that ice during the race.  How did I do?  Let's just say I finished the race without walking ;)

Trouble

My parents came in for a visit this last weekend.  For once, we didn't work on house projects.  Instead, we went out to the town to see the museums. Yes, I forgot my camera on the outings...bummer.

We were making dinner one night and I called upstairs to Carter asking if he wanted to come downstairs and eat.  He said, "NO NO"!  A few minutes later CJ is walking down the stairs with something in his hand.  He hands it to Grandpa.  He was really inquisitive as to what it was.  He had one of Hannah's poopy diapers and wanted to know what the poop was! (He has been pooping on the potty since 8 months old so he probably doesn't remember seeing poop in a diaper).  Hmmmm, where did he get that poopy diaper?  I went up to her room and this is what I found...

Someone opened the trashcan and pulled out all the diapers within arms reach.  We are very fortunate because it could have been much worse. No poop got on the floor. WHEW!

Green Smoothie Goodness

In order to boost my health and get some of this baby weight off, I decided to drink a green smoothie everyday. Since I was going to all the trouble to make my smoothie, I thought I might as well make it for the whole family so we can all get some good raw food nutrition. You want to know if it's good?  I gave it the real test and fed it to CJ.  He liked it so much, he got mad that it stopped coming out of the sippy cup.  I put berries in it and the little seeds didn't get ground up and got stuck in the lid of his cup.  So, I took the lid off and this is what happened.  At least he was happy to get his smoothie!

As you probably know, the Texas Rangers made it to the World Series again this year.  We won't talk about the outcome of the series...we will pretend it didn't happen.  But I snapped a picture of Clay and Hannah enjoying the game.
