Texas: Part 3

Carter was mesmerized by the horses, but he didn't want to ride them.  Every time we asked him if he wanted to ride the horse, he said, "no please!".  Here comes the tough love.  Clay and I knew that once he got on the horse, he would really enjoy it.  He just had to face his fear. We gave him a few chances for him to choose for himself to ride the horse.  "no please". Ok, fine.  You are going to ride the horse and you are going to like it...we promise!!!

You want to ride the horse, Carter? "no please", he said sweetly

You are going to ride the horse, Carter

Texas Adventure: part 1

The time had come to go to the airport to commence our journey to Texas. I am calling it a journey because that's what it is when you have 2 children under 3, you are flying on "space available" passes, and there is no direct route on the airline you have the free passes for. So instead of driving 15 minutes to the airport down the road to hop on a 3 hour direct flight to Dallas, we drove an hour and 15 minutes to Baltimore to catch a flight to Houston which then took off for Dallas.  Total air travel time for that was 4.5 hours. Also, after we arrived to Dallas, we had to drive another 1.5 hours to reach the final destination.  Was it worth it?  YES! Total travel time for the day was 11 hours, but that beats driving 20+ hours! The kids did surprisingly well and there was only one "melt down" by Carter towards the end of the trip.  He was probably a little upset he couldn't fall asleep! More to come soon!

Yes, I'm cute and I know it

so am I! ;)  This boy is ALWAYS eating!

CJ watching the airplanes take off...he was enthralled!

"BIIIIIIIG AIRPLANE!"

He was pretty excited to walk down the ramp.  I'm talking about CJ, not CJ ;)

Getting all cozy
Having some fun!
He did finally say "go see Mau" but it got cut off :)  Mau is Grandma Humphreys.
